The name Kan-chen-junga- meaning head, belly and knee forms the integral part of the formation of Sleeping Buddha. The 3 main peaks which constitutes the Sleeping Buddha formation are Kumbhakarna (7,710m) , 3rd highest peak of the world- Kanchenjunga (8,586m) and Pandim (6,691m) . The formation is best visible from Sandakphu, highest point of West Bengal at (3,636m)
