PCI started in 2015 at the City of Joy with few friends who liked photography as hobby. We started with photo walks with known people within that network. Then with growing popularity, we started conducting photo-walks with photo mentors from different brands with open registrations. We witnessed steady growth of members as amateur photographers from different genres and age group. More ace photographers from the across country and specialists also got involved in PCI’s activities.
Soon we started annual international photo exhibition & contest and witnessed photographers from other countries not only participate but renowned photographers volunteered to part of the panel of judges.
We just successfully conducted the 5th International Photo exhibition & contest this year in January at ICCR, Kolkata with more than 2000 photos being submitted across 15 countries with renowned photographers in different panels from more than 5 countries. PCI has decided the theme for the year 2023 as Climate Change. PCI also was host for a unique photo event in India called DOTSO in March at Kolkata with participants from across 7 countries. Beyond the annual event and one-off and unique event like DOTSO, we have been doing our monthly photo contest on social media regularly and face to face photo-workshop and photo-walk on a quarterly basis. We have also successfully conducted joint workshops at universities/institutes for media and photo-journalism departments with more than 500 participants in one day.
We have now more than 70000 members and omnipresent across social platforms. Unlike few other photography groups, PCI has never been any ‘single-photographer or specific brand’ driven fan club group. We always believed in pluralism and maintained the diversity since our birth.
We have now other plans to diversify and intensify our activities on photography. Be it: workshops or photo-walks or contests or photo-journalism or training or theme based photo tours or programs. These programs need a higher number of volunteers to run smoothly. And it is not only about good intentions or wishes from our members or financial assistance from our patrons but we need your hands, feet, sweat and time.
If you have keen interest/passion in photography as an amateur irrespective of your professional or career specialization and somehow eager to explore opportunities to volunteer in any form or manner in PCI’s activities, kindly contact us for more information. We are planning to form a special swat team called as ‘PCI Seals’ to fast track our activities. If you are a student, then depending on kind of engagement and your contribution/skill, you may be eligible for an internship as well as part of PCI Seals program. If you are working and want to get engaged with us on part-time or vocational basis, we have options for you.

Graphic Designing – small designs to be used for our posts and sites
Website management – Sub-admin role for managing portal
Social Media Management– Posting and managing our social mediums.
Key Events Coordination– Execution of key offline events
