The jewel of the mountains is what I call this bird. This was a shot I feel in love with after I had clicked it.
I was in Zuluk, Sikkim in April 2021 just before the 2nd wave of covid had struck. This is where while trekking early in the morning through the mountainous roads this bird was spotted.
It did not give a lot of time as we were 3 in the group trying to get a shot at it. The bird took off almost immediately and was going uphill, when she turned her face, and that’s it. I had my camera ready for the moment.
